Expungement of Arrests and Convictions
If you have been arrested or convicted in the past, speak with us to determine if we can expunge the event from your permanent record.
If you have no prior criminal record, an expungement for a charge that has been dismissed can be filed immediately.
If you were arrested and your case was resolved through PTI (pretrial intervention) an expungement of the arrest can be filed immediately upon completion of PTI. If you received PTI for a drug arrest, you have to wait an additional 6 months to expunge the arrest.
If you have been convicted of a municipal ordinance you have to wait two years to file for the expungement of the conviction.
If you have been convicted of a disorderly person’s offense, you have to wait 5 years to file for the expungement of the conviction.
If you have been convicted of a crime, you have to wait 10 years to file for the expungement of the conviction.
Nonetheless, there are certain convictions, due to their unique nature, which cannot be expunged.
If you are interested in seeing if your record can be expunged please call us to set up a consultation.
